Visit this FREE festival to participate in a host of sun-themed activities for all ages and experience the delight of the sun as it casts shadows in the shape of letters from the top of Same Sun, the water tank where the event is located, to complete the painted Latin phrase, Sol Omnibus Lucet or “The Sun Shines Upon Us All” for the first time. The event brings together families, local food lovers, art and music appreciators and science enthusiasts to explore and encourage the interplay between the arts and sciences and to inspire creativity in everyone. Where: The East Area Water Tank, visible from I-80, 44085 County Road 32A in Davis, California, west on the Mace Boulevard exit off Interstate 80. Through the use of shadow and dynamic imagery Same Sun is an ever-changing public work infused with a fundamental message of connection through nature. The message, “The Sun Shines Upon Us All”, encourages viewers to investigate our connectedness and shared dependence on nature. The palette of earthy colors resonates with the tank’s location, echoing the importance of the land, fine art and value that an inventive spirit brings to the community.
